How content is produced

Content on MeetOver60 is AI-assisted and human-edited. Drafts are produced with the help of AI tools, then reviewed, fact-checked, and edited by our editorial team before publication.

Bylines and pen names

Pages on this site are signed Neil Cowdray. That is a pen name, and it belongs to The MeetOver60 editors rather than to a person you could look up. We use one because a page should have somebody answerable for it, and a team name answers for nothing in particular. It is not there to lend a page authority the text has not earned.

What the pen name does not carry is credentials. Nobody here is a therapist, a counsellor, a lawyer or a financial adviser; no degree, licence, title or professional standing is claimed anywhere on this site, and no page is written as though one were. The role printed beside the name describes a point of view, not a qualification.

It also does not claim to be your contemporary. The editorial team is not the age this site is written for, so no page here speaks in the first person about dating in its own sixties or seventies. Where a page draws on lived experience it is the experience of watching a parent start again, and it says so.

The portrait on the about page is not a photograph of a living person. It is an illustration generated with an AI tool, it carries a visible "AI-generated image" label and a caption naming the pen name wherever it appears, and it is there to give a byline a face rather than to tell you whose. It is not a likeness of anybody real, and no image on this site is used as evidence that a person exists.

Sourcing & statistics

Every statistic we publish is verified against a primary source (the original study, government data, or the company's own reporting) and named in the same sentence it appears. The full list lives on our sources page and statistics page. Numbers we cannot trace to a primary source do not get published.

Corrections

Found an error? Email hello@meetover60.com. We correct factual errors within a week, note the correction on the affected page, and update the page's modified date honestly — it only changes when the content substantively changes.

MeetOver60 is an independent publication. Some links are affiliate links: if you sign up through them we may earn a commission at no cost to you. Affiliate status never changes a verdict, and every affiliate link is marked.

AI transparency

Every image on this site is generated by AI, and each one carries a visible "Illustration" label where it appears. We use that word in its publishing sense — a picture that accompanies the text — and some of our illustrations are photorealistic. None of them is a photograph. They are not stock photography, not documentary images, and never a record of a real person, a real reader, or a real event, even when they look like one. The people in them do not exist: nobody depicted is a member of our staff, a source, or a reader.

One image on this site is a portrait beside a byline, on the about page, and it is the strictest case. It is labelled "AI-generated image" rather than "Illustration", its caption names the byline a pen name, and both statements are enforced by a build gate rather than by memory. It is not a photograph, not a likeness of a real person, and not a claim that the person signing these pages looks like that — or exists as a single person at all.
